St. Stephen’s in Swift Current, Saskatchewan seeks an organist/pianist to assist in the music program at the parish. The congregation has recently acquired a new priest and leans in a traditional, classical direction. The sanctuary has a Northern Hammond organ and a Kawai digital piano. Currently, the Chancel Choir rehearses once a week and has 4-5 SAB voices, though with the recent addition of a young, trained choir director, there are signs this number will increase. The organist’s primary duties will be to provide the service music and choral accompaniment for Sunday (10:30am) and occasional weekday services, and to be involved in weekly practices. Additional duties may include music planning and choral leadership, depending on the applicant’s interests and skills. It is estimated that this part-time position will require 7-10 hours per week. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as described in the RCCO Salary Guidelines.
Applications will be treated in the strictest confidence and will be received until the post is filled. Thank you for your interest!
